Date 23 January 2023
DVA’s new chief takes up her appointment today (January 23) and we wish her well in making vital changes that will improve outcomes for veterans.
Alison Frame is the new Secretary of that department and has been appointed for five years. She has previously held senior roles focussing on human service delivery agencies and public sector strategic planning.
The Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide has already flagged the need for substantial reforms within DVA and we hope Ms Frame’s significant experience in human service delivery will help her, and DVA, to make those crucial changes.
The Royal Commission is having a positive impact; the government has accepted the inquiry’s interim report recommendations regarding DVA changes. But the fight to improve outcomes for veterans is not over, and it’s vital that people continue to make submissions to this inquiry.
